The founder of Utopia Cleaners is a pioneer in wet cleaning, a cleaning method that replaces the traditional dry cleaning chemical, perc, with biodegradable detergents. He experimented and perfected the wet cleaning system at his processing plant in Arlington, MA. As a result, workers there are no longer exposed to perc, and the plant no longer produces hazardous wastes.
In 2018, Utopia Cleaners acquired Sarni Cleaners’ three dry cleaning services in downtown Boston, including the dry cleaner in Financial District, Boston and the dry cleaner in South End, Boston.
Together with its suburban locations in Arlington, Woburn and Newton, Utopia Cleaners now operates six dry cleaners in Boston.
With a fleet of five trucks, Utopia Cleaners also has a strong laundry drop off and dry cleaning pickup service covering the areas of downtown Boston, Back Bay, Allston/Brighton, NU, BU, MIT, Harvard, Charlestown, South Boston, East Boston, as well as the suburban cities and towns of Cambridge, Brookline, Everett, Chelsea, Medford, Newton, Wellesley, Arlington, Belmont, Winchester, Woburn and Lexington. Utopia Cleaners dry cleaning delivery service is free and available 8am to 8pm on weekdays.
A new website with the new domain name utopiacleanersboston.com was designed and built by WSI after the acquisition. The mobile responsive website is built on WordPress and is secured with SSL. It contains conversion forms for pickup and delivery service, as well as VIP rewards program membership registration. The conversion rates of these forms are tracked by Google Analytics.

Local SEO Program for Dry Cleaner
An ongoing SEO program has been designed and implemented by WSI after the new website was launched. Blogging, link building, citation building, and customer reviews are key to getting the new website rank on the first page of search results the selected keywords.
An onsite blog, called Look Your Best, contains articles about garment care, dry cleaning, laundry tips, etc., which helps to attract visitors to the website. WSI will publish monthly blog posts on this blog. In addition, monthly blog posts will be written and syndicated to a home and family blog, a healthy living blog, a housekeeping blog, and a family life blog, thereby building links to the website. The Google My Business listings of the six dry cleaner locations will be updated with new business information, optimized and weekly posts will be published. WSI’s local SEO program also includes optimizing citations in business directories such as Yelp, Bing, Mapquest and others. In addition, we will also create frequent social posts on Facebook, Twitter, Google My Business and Pinterest. Customers have provided feedback as well as reviews on these social media platforms.
Email Marketing for Dry Cleaner
WSI also provides email marketing service for Utopia Cleaners. Using Constant Contact’s professional email marketing platform, email newsletters will be sent to the company’s customer list once or twice each month. The email blasts contain dry cleaning and laundry service coupons which are also posted on Google My Business and social media sites including Facebook and Twitter. These monthly promotions will help to retain customers as well as drive traffic to the website.
